Mower County Fairgrounds grandstand to be burned

AUSTIN, Minn. (KTTC) -- The Mower County Board voted unanimously Tuesday morning to burn down the grandstand at the county fairgrounds.

The decision comes after the grandstand was deemed too unsafe for use at this year's fair.

The controlled burn will be a training exercise for the Austin Fire Department.

No date has been set but the county expects the burn to happen this winter.
