Cyber Monday gives local retailers more hits on web sites

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- It's Cyber Monday and websites around the world are receiving more hits than usual Monday, including some local retailers.

Dallas McLaughlin is the webmaster of Five.Oh.Seven, a website featuring fashion merchandise inspired by life in southeast Minnesota. The site sells customized T-Shirts, hats and accessories, and is popular among Internet shoppers everywhere. McLaughlin said he gets hits from around the world and has seen double the amount of hits on his site Monday.

"It's only about 3 o'clock right now so it's around, I think, 339, so after people get off work, usually it goes up quite a bit. Usually between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. is the busiest time of the day," McLaughlin said.

McLaughlin said he competes with larger chains like Target or Macy's by offering promotions on his site.
