NEAR ZUMBROTA, Minn. (KTTC) -- A deer is blamed for a four-car crash that sent three people to Saint Marys Hospital.

The crash happened on U.S. 52 near Zumbrota at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday.

The Minnesota State Patrol said Kelly Kothenbeutel, 22, of Zumbrota, was driving on U.S. 52 north when she struck the deer. Her car was then rear-ended. As a third vehicle slowed down to avoid the two vehicles, it was rear-ended by a minivan. The minivan was driven by a 66-year-old man from Rochester.

The man and his wife were taken to Saint Marys Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, as was the driver of the second vehicle.
