Taking on crows with mothballs

PLAINVIEW, Minn. (KTTC) -- The city of Rochester is looking for the best solution to the city's crow problem.

Some local residents have used old tricks to get rid of crows on their property, and they're sharing those tips with KTTC.

We talked with Darold Heddlesten in Plainview who suggests tying bags of mothballs to the trees. Heddlesten tried this in his neighbor's yard when she had a bird problem, and it worked!

He suggests the city of Rochester try the same technique.

The Rochester City Council recently approved a $35,000 plan to get rid of the crows.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture will use an intense method of harassment to get rid of the birds.
