Mother wants to bury son who was killed by police

WOODBURY, Minn. (AP) -- A mother whose son was fatally shot by Woodbury police as he fled from a motel standoff in August says she wants to bury him, but can't.

Tawana Henderson says the body of her 19-year-old son, Mark, is being held by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner as evidence. Henderson was among 11 hostages held at gunpoint in a room at the Red Roof Inn. Tawana Henderson says her son escaped from the room and was running to safety when he was killed by police.

Three Woodbury officers have been on paid administrative leave while the state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension conducts an investigation into the shooting. Henderson tells KMSP-TV ( ) she still doesn't have any answers. She says authorities haven't apologized or even talked to her since her son was killed.
