ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- Construction on Second Street Southwest may be halted after vandals stole $4,000 worth of copper wire from the project.
It happened Tuesday just before 4 p.m. along the stretch of 2nd Street Southwest from Sixth Avenue Southwest to 11th Avenue Southwest.
Rochester police Capt. Brian Winters said local electric contractors were installing copper wire for street lamps. When the workers returned from a day's work, they found all the copper wire installed had been pulled from the site.
The vandals stole a total of 1,200 feet of wire.
