The federal court hearing for Misty Cook-Morrissey, mother of missing Evansdale girl Lyric Cook, was cancelled at the last minute Wednesday morning without any explanation.

Cook-Morrissey, 35, was ordered to appear in court at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday by federal judge Linda Reade for an alleged violation of supervised release in a methamphetamine case.

Cook-Morrissey pleaded guilty in 2003 to conspiring to manufacture and distribute methamphetamine.  After four years in federal custody, she was given five years of supervised release.  Last year, Reade ordered another five months of supervised release for unspecified reasons.

Court records explaining the supervised release violation have been sealed.

According to online federal court filings, a motion to dismiss the charge was filed Wednesday morning.  That document has also been sealed.

Cook-Morrisey's daughter, 11-year-old Lyric Cook, and niece, 9-year-old Elizabeth Collins, were abducted on July 13, while riding their bikes near Meyers Lake in Evansdale.  Family members and volunteers spent Tuesday, the four-month anniversary of the girls' disappearance, distributing new posters in hopes that someone will come forward with new information.
