Investigators probe new "skimming" incident in Olmsted County

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- Law enforcement in Rochester is giving yet another warning to use caution when swiping your credit or debit card.

The Olmsted County Sheriff's Office says there may have been another incident of "skimming" in the county.  Skimming is when a hard-to-detect device is put over the card swiper at a gas pump, or an ATM.  It reads your card information off the magnetic strip.

A woman told investigators she noticed odd transactions on her debit card on Friday.  The three transactions took place in Kingwood, Texas.  Two of those purchases were for more than two hundred dollars.

Similar incidents in the region prompted a warning from law enforcement to be wary of skimming last week.
