ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- A Rochester family is displaced after their home goes up in flames.
The fire broke out at 518 Oak Valley Lane NW at about 1 a.m. Tuesday.
The homeowner heard a noise and discovered flames coming from the back of the house, according to the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office.
Crews quickly responded and got the fire under control, but not before about half of the home's rear-exterior was burned.
Fortunately, the homeowner and her son were not injured.
The family is not able to stay in the home and the Red Cross is assisting.
Officials estimate damage at $50,000.
