Woman arrested for DUI with kids in vehicle

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- A woman has been arrested after driving drunk with two children in the vehicle.

It happened at about 9:40 a.m. Saturday near 19th Street and County Road 22. That's where Amran Jimale, 24, was driving a green minivan when she crashed into another vehicle and kept going, according to Rochester Police Capt. Brian Winters.

The driver that was struck followed the van and called police. Officers caught up with Jimale and arrested her in the 3700 block of 8th Street NW. Police discovered a one and two year old inside the van.

Jimale is facing charges including DUI, leaving the scene of an accident and child endangerment.

The children were given to responsible family members, according to police.
