ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- The Family Violence Coordinating Council held a commemoration ceremony for victims of domestic violence at Rochester Community and Technical College. Thursday's vigil was one of many the organization has planned throughout October in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness month.
Many people gathered at the RCTC Campus to mourn the lives lost and educate the community. Some survivors shared their experiences, while others decorated t-shirts to display at the event. Roses were placed at 34 handmade headstones-one for each Minnesotan who has died from these violent acts.
