WASHINGTON (KTTC/AP) -- The remains of a Minnesota service member -- missing in action since World War II, have been identified.
A funeral is planned Thursday at Arlington National Cemetery for Cpl. Wayne Erickson of Minneapolis -- along with six other Marines killed in a crash over the South Pacific in 1944.
The remains of the wreckage were first identified on an island in 1994. Since then, multiple teams have now recovered partial remains of all seven crew members.
