Copper theft reported near Pine Island

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- A major copper theft has been reported north of Rochester.

Killmer Electric was doing work on the Elk Run project near Pine Island when $30,000 worth of insulated copper all-weather cable was taken from a locked building there.

The theft in New Haven Township happened sometime during September, and was discovered and reported Monday.

Nine lifting straps valued at $1,200 each were also taken.
