Checks stolen from mailbox in Oronoco

ORONOCO, Minn. (KTTC) -- Olmsted County deputies said someone stole a number of checks from a woman's mailbox.

It happened in early September but wasn't reported to police until Friday.

A woman living in Oronoco placed bills in her mailbox to be mailed out. That's when deputies said someone removed five checks right out of the box.

The checks were eventually cashed in Rochester. The bank noticed the checks and called authorities before the money left the woman's bank account.
