The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and the Floyd County Sheriff's Office announce Casey Frederiksen, the former boyfriend of Evelyn Miller's mom, is charged with murder and sexual abuse.

The charges were announced at the Floyd Community Center at 706 Fairfield Street in Floyd.

Miller disappeared from her home near Floyd on July 1, 2005.  Searchers found her body in the Cedar River about a week later.

Casey Frederiksen pleaded guilty in 2006 to federal charges of possessing and attempting to possess child pornography.  He was sentenced to 14 years in prison.

Then, in 2009, Frederiksen pleaded guilty to one count of possessing pseudoephedrine and knowing or having reasonable cause to believe it would be used to manufacture methamphetamine.  He received 10 more years in prison for that charge.

Investigators say Frederiksen also admitted to lying under oath about the pseudoephedrine scheme while talking to investigators about the disappearance and murder of Evelyn.
