Police arrest man in connection with stabbing

MASON CITY, Minn. (KTTC) -- A Mason City man is behind bars for his alleged role in a stabbing Saturday afternoon.

Michael Young Jr., 46, was arrested Saturday at 7:00 p.m. on the 200 block of 8th Place SE in Mason City. He was found in a garage and eventually surrendered without incident.

According to Mason City Police, Ricky DeMaris, 54, was stabbed Saturday afternoon just after 1:00 on the 200 block of 1st Street SW. He was stabbed in the neck and before being transported to the hospital for surgery he told police he was stabbed by Young. DeMaris is in stable condition at Mercy Hospital East Campus.

Young is being held at the Cerro Gordo County Jail.
