One person is dead in an officer-involved shooting Thursday night in Johnson County.
Around 7 p.m. on Thursday, two state agents with the Division of Narcotics Enforcement (DNE) were undercover at the Breckenridge Trailer Court at Trailer 7C in Johnson County, just outside Iowa City.
According to the Department of Criminal Investigations, there was an altercation between the officers and several others and shots were fired.
DCI says 24-year-old Ivan Carl Hardemon was killed in the exchange. An autopsy is being performed on Hardemon to confirm the cause of death, but at this time it's believed he died from a gunshot wound.
Another person, 22-year-old Demarco Dudley, was also injured in the exchange. He was driven to the Bon Aire Mobile Home Park by his brother, 20-year-old Norman Dudley. Demarco Dudley was taken to an area hospital and treated.
Authorities found the car driven by Norman Dudley abandoned in Iowa City. They have not been able to locate Dudley, or another man believed to be involved, 20-year-old John Mulbah.
The two officers were not injured.
The case is being investigated by DCI.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Johnson County Joint Emergency Communications Center at 319-358-6800. There is a $1,000 reward for information that will locate Norman Dudley and John Mulbah.
