Man bitten by rattlesnake

(KTTC) -- A second person in the past year has been bitten by a timber rattlesnake in Houston County.

He was bit on the ankle and was taken to Winona Health Clinic, but they didn't have the anti-venom, so he was transferred to Gunderson Lutheran in LaCrosse.

The man was on his way to his shed in downtown Houston when he was bit by the 42-inch-long male timber rattlesnake.

The man is now out of the hospital and recovering .

Timber rattlesnakes are not deadly, but cause tremendous pain.

The timber rattlesnakes have a brown head with a black tail and rattle and recently can be found in Houston and Fillmore Counties.
