Mason City man arrested on weapons charges

MASON CITY, Iowa (KTTC) -- U.S. Marshals have arrested a man on weapons charges after a standoff in Mason City.

U.S. Marshals and local law enforcement executed a federal arrest warrant at 505 N. Delaware Ave. shortly before 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

Police say Levi James Andersen, 25, of Mason City, was wanted for probation revocation regarding weapons charges. When officers arrived on scene, police say Andersen refused to come out of his home. After several minutes passed, members of the North Iowa Narcotics Task Force's Special Operations Group made entry. Officers found Andersen hiding in the basement and took him into custody.
