ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- Sentencing for the man accused of assaulting a former RCTC football player has been delayed.
Ricardo Thornton is now scheduled to be sentenced September 13. The reason for the change is that more pre-sentence investigation is needed, according to attorneys.
In April, Thornton entered a guilty plea for assaulting Joe Geike back in 2008. He's one of two men prosecuted for that assault.
The assault left Geike with traumatic brain injuries.
Thornton pleaded not guilty back in 2010 and at that time was awaiting a jury trial.
