ROCHESTER (KTTC ) -- It's been a year-and-a-half since a drunk driver killed Austin Melville as he was walking across the street in downtown Rochester.
Friday night, Austin's parents honored his memory at the Olmsted County Fair.
Sandy and Hilary Melville were at the Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) booth.
They're hoping Austin's story will make people think twice before getting behind the wheel while under the influence.
Austin was 23-years-old when a drunk driver hit and killed him.
He had aspirations of becoming a sports broadcaster.
"Most of the time we feel helpless. There isn't anything you can do and it's just something that we can do to try to help others from getting into the same situation that Austin and we are in now," Hilary said.
The Walk Like MADD walk is in Rochester on August 25.
