Mason City man sentenced to prison for forgery

MASON CITY, Iowa (KTTC) -- A Mason City man was sentenced to 10 years in prison for forgery and theft.

Monte Bitker, 28, received five years behind bars for forgery and another five years for theft.

Bitker told the court Tuesday that his bad choices were made while under the influence of drugs.

He was also sentenced to 60 days in jail for assault.
