Deputies use stop-sticks to stop car on U.S. 52

Posted:

CANNON FALLS, Minn. (KTTC) -- Sheriff's deputies and a state trooper used three sets of stop-sticks, but they had to "bump" a man's car to get him to stop and give himself up last night.

Dakota County Sheriff Dave Bellows says it began about 11 p.m. Sunday with word of a car weaving all over southbound U.S. 52 near Cannon Falls -- a deputy gave chase.

The small car had a canoe tied on top. The drama finally ended when an officer "pitted" the car near Pine Island.

His tires completely shredded, the driver was taken to a hospital with medical issues
