Candles blamed for house fire in Albert Lea

ALBERT LEA, Minn. (KTTC) -- Fire investigators in Albert Lea say unattended candles caused a house fire Sunday afternoon.

Crews were called to 418 Garfield Ave. at about 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

Albert Lea firefighter Brett Boss says the fire was contained to a bedroom, but there was smoke damage throughout the home.

Damage is estimated at $15,000.

No one was home at the time of the fire.
