ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- It looks like we'll have showers in the area through the mid morning hours and then after some hot midday sunshine warms us into the upper 80s, we'll experience another round of showers and thunderstorms late in the afternoon and evening as the cold front with that storm system approaches from the west.
Widespread severe weather doesn't appear likely, but a couple of the storms we're expecting later today may be strong to severe with gusty winds and a little hail possible.
There will be light shower and thunderstorm chances tonight and then early tomorrow with just isolated activity possible later in the day with bright, hot sunshine on Sunday as highs will be in the 90s across the area and more of those 90s will be expected for Monday and Tuesday of next week. there may be a few showers and thunderstorms Tuesday with the arrival of a cold front from the northwest, but again, now much rain is expected out of that scenario.
