ROCHESTER (KTTC) -- More than 13,000 soccer players will take over Blaine on Friday to compete in the Schwan's USA CUP.
It's the largest youth soccer tournament in the Western Hemisphere.
To get warmed up, the Rochester Euro Football Club hosted a scrimmage against some soccer teams from Colombia at Zumbro West Park in Rochester on Thursday night.
"I love soccer and I also love the sensation of being here playing with other countries and people and because I can also make new friends," said Andres Felipe Fernández with U-11 Colegios Colombia.
Melia Rindels, with Rochester Euro Football Club, went on to say, "It's interesting. It's fun to see how good they are and what it's like from a different country."
These Colombian teams will compete in the tournament.
Schwan's USA CUP will feature 958 teams, representing 16 countries and 22 states.
It'll be the first time some of the Rochester Euro teams will be competing.
Rochester Euro does bring in coaches from Brazil to work with the area's youth during the summer.
"The town of Rochester welcomed the Brazilian coaches first and now the Brazilians, with [Rochester] Euro, welcome the Colombians," said Wesley Costa, coaching director for Rochester Euro Football Club.
Several of the teams at Thursday's scrimmage will be competing in the USA CUP's week long tournament that starts on Tuesday.
The weekend version starts on Friday.
