UPDATE: Authorities investigate officer-involved shooting

LYLE, Minn. (FOX 47) --  The Minnesota Department of Public Safety Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Lyle.

Mower County deputies responded Wednesday at about 3 p.m. to a domestic disturbance at 50278 130th St. in Lyle.

Authorities say Brian Jansen, 42, was armed with a shotgun and fled into a nearby cornfield.

While deputies searched for Jansen, they found his wife inside the home unharmed.

The BCA says Jansen was first shot with a Taser after refusing to put down his shotgun, and then Mower County deputy Jason Bresser shot him in the arm after Jansen pointed the shotgun at him.

Jansen was treated at an Austin hospital and then jailed pending charges.

Deputy Bresser, who is a six year veteran of the Mower County Sheriff's Office, has been placed on standard administrative leave.
