3 caught trying to sell fence posts to scrap yard

STEWARTVILLE, Minn. (KTTC) -- The Olmsted County Sheriff's Office says three boys are facing charges after a few hundred fence posts were stolen near Stewartville.

The thefts happened over the past few days at the same home, and in just one load the suspects took more than 200 fence posts.

Three juvenile boys were caught trying to sell the posts to Jennings Scrap Yard in Rochester, and admitted to the crime.

They said they had collected more than $200 for the materials.

Two of the boys are from Spring Valley and one is from Stewartville.
