HOUSTON (AP) -- Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has hired the attorney who represented Roger Clemens in his recent perjury case to help him after he was arrested at a Houston night club last weekend.
Peterson has hired prominent Texas attorney Rusty Hardin to represent him. The running back was arrested and charged with resisting arrest after allegedly pushing an off-duty police officer who was working security at the night club.
Peterson was released from jail Saturday after posting bond. He has an initial court appearance on the misdemeanor scheduled for Friday.
He tweeted on Sunday, "Thank you for waiting for the facts. Truth will surface."
Clemens was charged with lying to Congress when he denied using performance-enhancing drugs. He was retried this year and found not guilty on all counts.
