ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- At last, we've reached what looks to be the final day of our week-long hot spell, the longest in decades, as high temperatures will flirt with triple digit figures again today.
Expect mostly sunny skies through the day with a slight chance of late day thunderstorms ahead of an approaching cold front.
High temperatures will be in the mid and upper 90s with heat indices in the 100 to 110 range and an Excessive Heat Warning remains in effect for the entire area.
Cooler air is on the way, however, as that cold front will slide through the area, triggering some thunderstorms overnight and early tomorrow, and then turning our 90s into 80s for the weekend while the humidity levels will drop off as well.
We'll stick with highs in the low to mid 80s for all of next week as well.
