ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- Our country's birthday is Tuesday and celebrations usually take people outside for parades, cookouts and fireworks. But extreme heat could cause some issues for those taking their plans outside.
Heat indices are expected to be well over 100 degrees in southeastern Minnesota. The city of Rochester is reminding anyone heading outside to take precautions, including wearing light-colored clothing and staying hydrated.
Rochester Public Transit is also offering free bus rides to air conditioned places, such as the library.
The offer runs from Tuesday through Thursday, but no routes will run on Wednesday because of the 4th of July holiday.
