ORONOCO, Minn. (KTTC)- One of Oronoco's oldest fixtures received a much-needed renovation as a roofing project added life to the Oronoco Park cottage.
Beating the heat on Friday and Saturday, crews from Ronningen Roofing, ABC Supply as well as volunteers from the area pitched in to take down the old shingles and put up new ones.
The materials for the project were provided at an extremely reduced rate, helping the project get completed at low cost.
All the volunteers are from the area and know how much the cabin means to the park and Oronoco.
"I grew up in this park, and it means a lot to me to give back to the community and donate my time," says Oronoco Park Director Cain Dolan, "and along with a lot of other volunteers we've successfully re-roofed this house at a fraction of the cost."
Thanks to the help of all the volunteers, the roof was completed earlier than anticipated on Saturday.
