ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- Olmsted County Public Health is warning of new cases of pertussis, otherwise known as whooping cough.
So far this year, the county has received 84 reports of pertussis, which is more than four times higher than the number of total cases in 2011.
Public health says pertussis booster vaccines are available for anyone over 11 years of age, and they are highly recommended.
In addition to the vaccines, prevention and control of pertussis includes hand washing, covering your cough and giving antibiotics just in case.
