ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- Mayo Clinic President and CEO Dr. John Noseworthy addressed the upholding of the Affordable Health Care Act Thursday morning. He made it clear in his statements that the way Mayo Clinic operates and its focus will not change.
He emphasized that Mayo will continue to be a leader in healthcare and a leader when it comes to reforming the field.
Dr. Noseworthy says they're always looking into ways to making healthcare more effective and he says the health care reform law will not change that.
He explains their focus is on providing care to people that need it in an efficient and affordable way and says Mayo supports reform that would encourage that.
Dr. Noseworthy says, "Mayo Clinic's role throughout the healthcare reform debate and beyond has been consistent in supporting changes to the healthcare system that will benefit the patient. We will continue to be an outspoken, leading voice in for a healthcare system that always puts the needs of the patient first."
