Updated:

EDINA, Minn. (AP) -- Rescue crews have freed a worker trapped by a slab of concrete at a construction site in Edina.

A man working on an addition to a home was pinned after a dirt wall collapsed inside a trench Wednesday morning. Edina spokeswoman Kaylin Martin says the man's leg was pinned by a chunk of concrete about 4 feet by 5 feet.

The Star Tribune says the worker was trapped about 2 1/2 hours before he was freed and put on a stretcher. There's no immediate word on his condition.

First responders from Hopkins, St Louis Park, Eden Prairie and Minneapolis are assisting.
