One killed in Houston County crash

HOUSTON COUNTY, Minn. (KTTC) -- One person is dead and another critically hurt in a crash in Houston County.

The accident happened around 6 p.m. Monday on Highway 44 just north of Newhouse.

A pickup rear-ended a car with four passengers.

One of those passengers, a 55-year-old San Francisco woman died from her injuries.

A 18-year-old woman from Decorah was airlifted to Gunderson Lutheran in La Crosse, where she is in critical condition.

The other passengers were not seriously hurt.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
