Updated:

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- A Rochester cab driver is okay after being assaulted when his passenger wouldn't pay the tab.

During the early morning hours on Saturday, 24-year-old Matthew Suarez hailed a cab to the 1200 block of 4 1/2 Street Northwest.

When the cab arrived at the destination, investigators say Suarez did not pay for the trip and then punched the driver in the head.

Suarez was apprehended by police shortly after.

He's facing charges of 5th degree assault, theft, and possession charges for a small amount of cocaine.
