CLEAR LAKE, Iowa (KTTC) -- A New York Times best-seller tour lands in Iowa Wednesday evening with quite the following.  The book, "Heaven is For Real," has gained its popularity through a four-year-old's experience with life after death.

Hundreds of people showed up to Clear Lake High School for an inside look into how this book came to be.  Two hours before the 7:30 p.m. event, folks began lining the sidewalks at the high school.

"Heaven is For Real" is a book Written by Pastor Todd Burpo about the encounter his then four year-old-son, Colton says he had while at the hospital.  Just before age four, Colton was rushed to the hospital with a burst appendix needing an emergency operation. It wasn't until after his leaving of the hospital Colton began talking about his encounter with Jesus, John The Baptist and family members who have passed away.

The book has brought out its skeptics.

"A lot of people say 'well I could believe this story if I could just talk to Colton,' said the book's Author, Colton's Father, Pr. Todd Burpo.  "Well all the people in my town can, they do, they walk up to him. And I ask them 'where are the people that are rolling around with national television saying we invented this story?' They don't exist. Because I got 2000 witnesses in my small town that know this is true."

So many people showed up to the event there was an overflow audience in the auditorium.  There are two versions of this book, one for children, and one with more details for the adults.
