ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- The warm front responsible for producing a strong line of thunderstorms late last night and early this morning for the northern portion of our viewing area and the Twin Cities is pushing northward away from our local area, allowing some very warm and humid air into the Upper Mississippi Valley.
Expect partly sunny skies through the day today with strong gusty south winds and high temperatures in the low and mid 90s this afternoon and heat indices in the upper 90s.
A cold front will approach the area late tonight, triggering some thunderstorms in our area late in the evening and for the overnight period and then an all day soaker is expected tomorrow as that front will stall just south of the area.
We'll have periods of showers and thunderstorms all day tomorrow with an inch or more of rainfall possible and then drier weather with lower humidity levels will be expected Thursday and Friday with highs closer to 80° than 90°.
