NEAR ROSE CREEK, Minn. (KTTC) -- A woman is in critical condition after she was accidentally shot in the head.
26-year-old Maja Iverson was accidentally shot by her 15-year-old stepson around 5 p.m. Friday. It happened at their home on 205th street in Rose Creek. The boy was out shooting birds with a 22-caliber rifle when a stray bullet went through a shed and hit Iverson. Her husband Chad, who was in the shed with her at the time, says he noticed her fall backwards and saw her bleeding from the ear.
"Apparently they have these baby chicks which compete with other birds, crows and such, so that's what they were taking care of,"explained Mower County Sheriff, Terese Amazi.
Mayo One transported Iverson to Saint Marys Hospital where she underwent immediate surgery. No one is being charged in the incident.
