HUTCHINSON, Minn. (AP) -- Police say two people survived when their single-engine homebuilt airplane crash-landed at the Hutchinson Municipal Airport in central Minnesota.

Police and ambulance were called to Butler Field around 3:45 p.m. Thursday and found the damaged airplane with two occupants out of the plane. David Wayne Walters of Oregon and Jean Louise Galloway of North Carolina were both conscious and alert.

The two were taken to Hutchinson Area Health Care with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers describe the plane as a small, two-passenger privately owned aircraft.

The Federal Aviation Administration and Hutchinson police will investigate the crash.

Hutchinson is about 45 miles west of Minneapolis.
