ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC)-- Fareway foods is coming to Rochester and will open in the northwest part of town.
For the past two years Fareway Foods has been scouting locations in Rochester waiting for the right fit.
The Iowa based grocery store chain found its perfect location in the Maplewood Square Shopping Center where the old Rainbow Foods used to be.
The grocery store will be more than 24,000 square feet in size and employ about 100 workers.
This will be the second Fareway Foods to open in Minnesota.
It's been in Stewartville for the past 3 years.
Stewartville store manager, Robert Hruska says, "You can kind of pick your own meats. We have to your car service, we have best at fresh produce. Just closed on Sundays. Do things maybe a little different but we're a throwback and we kind of like it that way."
Fareway Foods is in 101 locations. The chain has been around since 1938.
The Rochester store is expected to open early in 2013.
