ORONOCO, Minn. (KTTC) -- A tall-standing resident of Oronoco is getting some recognition.
The tree known as "The Moose Tree" in Oronoco Park is the new record holder as Minnesota's Largest American Basswood tree, according to the Minnesota DNR's Biggest Tree List.
"The Moose Tree" is 91 feet tall, and has a circumference of 192 inches.
Volunteers trim the 150-year-old tree. By cutting away some of the higher up heavy limbs, they're trying to help the big, old tree handle the wind and survive a few more years.
