Earth patrol gives back to the environment

DODGE CENTER, Minn. (KTTC) --About a dozen or so students from Triton High school were out Wednesday afternoon to rid Wildlife Management Areas of trash.

Wildlife Management Areas provide public land for hunting, fishing, and other outdoor activities. Sometimes though, these areas are not cleaned up after use or used for an actual dump site. Today it was mainly bottles, cans and regular trash these students were cleaning up, but in years past items such as televisions were found.

The students were happy to give mother nature a hand.

"Personally I always want to know that I want to be doing something, helping out and knowing I'm helping clean this beautiful area and keeping it clean for future generations to enjoy, that's just self satisfaction," Said Eliseo Barbosa of Triton High School

The students hope people that use these areas are more mindful of their trash in the future.
