LA CROSSE, Wis. (AP) -- Not guilty pleas have been entered for two men charged in the fatal shooting of a young La Crosse woman.
Nineteen-year-old Kong Vue and his 21-year-old uncle, Pao Choua Vue, are charged with party to first-degree intentional homicide in the death of 20-year-old Sara Hougom. Prosecutors say Kong Vue walked into her unlocked apartment to look for her purse, shot her when she moved on the couch and fled to a car driven by his uncle last March.
The two are also charged with party to attempted first-degree intentional homicide in a drive-by shooting in La Crosse shortly before Hougom was killed. The La Crosse Tribune says Kong Vue pleaded not guilty. A judge entered the same pleas for his uncle who stood mute in court Monday.
