Stand still parade

WHALAN, Minn. (KTTC)--  Whalan, Minnesota is a quaint town that sits on the Root River with a population of just 63 people. Saturday the town came to life as hundreds visited to celebrate in the annual Stand Still Parade.

Instead of the classic cars, floats and color guard moving the people are the ones doing the walking.

There were a number of vendors demonstrating their crafts, along with a petting zoo, homemade food, live music and balloon making.

This is the 17th year the parade has been going and this year tribute was paid to farmers. It brings in people from Wisconsin, Iowa, and all over Minnesota.

Proceeds from the parade will go to the Whalan Lutheran Church and the restoration of the Whalan town hall and of course some of the money will be used to make sure next year will be just as fun.
