Motorcycle accident near Mantorville

NEAR MANTORVILLE, Minn. (KTTC) -- Two people are in critical condition at St. Marys Hospital after a motorcycle and trailer accident.

It happened around 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, just north of Mantorville.

The driver of the motorcycle, Michael Wendt, 48, and his passenger Carol Wendt, 54, were traveling north on Highway 57.

Both are from Kasson.

At the same time, Steven Stensven, 29, of Pine Island was crossing the highway in a truck with a trailer.

The motorcycle then collided with the trailer.  

"I've got three other deputies here that are assisting with traffic control... Getting the traffic moving as quickly as possible until we get the scene cleared up," said Sgt. Jeff Espinosa with the Dodge County Sheriff's Office.

Michael and Carol Wendt are in critical condition at St. Marys Hospital.

The driver of the truck, Stensven, has no apparent injuries.
