Pension Reform?

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- A national organization revealing retired government employee pensions made a stop this morning in Rochester. Taxpayers United of America suggests replacing new government employee pensions with 401K's and social security.

The grassroots organization stresses that in the years to come, funding for pensions will run out. In order to off-set that, the organization is suggesting current government employees participating in a pension fund add an extra 10-percent toward their pension, or that employees pay for half of their health care premiums

Christina Tobin, with Taxpayers United of America, said people need to care about pension reform, because there are these $6 - $8million dollar pension payments and a majority of our taxes go towards pensions, $70-$80 percent.
