Boys & Girls Club at new Northwest location

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- The Boys and Girls Club of Rochester has officially moved to their new northwest location, while their center street site is renovated.

The club is partnering with Child Care Resource and Referral's Head Start program to build a new facility for ages birth to 18. Kids will be at the northwest location for about 14 months.

"We still have our schools busing kids. We have a transfer location at St. Francis school that we're going to continue with throughout the school year. We are then picking our kids up at St. Francis to get them Northwest location. Of course, access to the club is extremely important, we want to make sure kids can get here," said Jodi Millerbernd, with the Boys & Girls Club.

A groundbreaking is not yet scheduled, but construction is set to be complete in 2013.

In total, more than 1500 kids are registered with the boys and girls club. On average 120 some use the service each day.
