Car vandals make speedy getaway

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) --  Police are investigating a case of vehicle vandalism that took place around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in Northwest Rochester.

A car parked in the United Way parking lot near the 900 block of 1st Avenue Northwest had been severely damaged.  The rear windshield and passenger windows were broken out while profanity was keyed into the siding of the car.

A witness sitting in another parked vehicle nearly 30 feet away could hear the damage being done.

"It sounded like a car door but it must have been the back window," said Bruno Cates. "I thought the back window was the last window he hit."

Cates described the two suspects as young teenagers who made a quick getaway.
